Edit youtube videos and changing it's background music

Post  Admin on Thu May 27, 2010 3:13 am

I recently participated on Yahoo! answers and I'd like to share this topic with all of you for future used. Original link is here: Link

Question:I love this youtube video but the song does not go with it so how do i change the song and then repost it?
can someone help me please.

This was quite a challenge. For the reason that finding a free or open source and tested working software is quite rare. But here it is.
For firefox browser install downloadhelper add-ons. This is if you don't have an flv downloader.
For removing the audio/sound from the video file use Avidemux. You just need to open the original video file and on the Audio menu, choose "Main Track". The Main Audio Track window will open with three settings, audio source, track from video & external file. under audio source, select none. Click save file(diskette icon under menus). Your file name should be on *.avi format like flv.avi. You need to remove the original background music or audio first before inserting the new one.
Then for joining your mute video file to your chosen audio file, use Avidemux. You just need to open the mute video file and on the Audio menu, choose "Main Track". The Main Audio Track window will open with three settings, audio source, track from video & external file. under audio source, select external file format(ac3, mp3 or wav). Then on the external file, locate your chosen song. Click save file(diskette icon under menus). Your file name should be on *.avi format like flv.avi.
That's it!
If you need to edit the audio file, to add some effects and etc, use Audacity.

I've tested this and it's working 100%.
